I grew up in Venezuela in the 1990s, a place and time defined by contrast. Alongside the beauty of art and nature, I watched a vibrant world shift under political and social upheaval. That contrast shaped everything I create.
About Rafa Paradisi
Ever since I was a child, I've been pulled toward art as a way to connect with others and express my inner world.
I grew up watching the sharp contrast between beautiful sculptures lining our streets and the harsh realities of rising crime and poverty. Yet nature always seemed to win. The mountains, the birds, the tropical flowers, they were a constant reminder of something bigger than our fleeting human problems.
That dichotomy is what led me toward surrealism. I began creating parallel worlds where nature and the stars are the main characters and fantasy is a given. These landscapes became a sanctuary, a place my inner child wanted to escape to during hard times.
But my art isn't just about escaping. It's about focus and rebirth. I believe every hardship happens to render things exactly the way they were meant to be. Now I want to share these worlds with you. Together, we can focus on building a new reality, one that looks a lot more like magic and a lot less like chaos.
